Small Flat Screen TV

There are great benefits of having a small flat screen TV. Since the size of the TV is so small, it can be mounted virtually anywhere in your home or office granting you access to all your favorite television shows and movies anywhere any time. Thanks to advances in technology, the costs of small flat panel TVs have gone down while the quality and functionality of these TV’s have gone up. If you are considering a flat panel TV, you have many choices from which to choose your TV. Your main choices to look at when searching for the TV you want are Rear Projection, Plasma, LCD, LED and 3D TV’s. Let’s take a look at each different type of TV and the strengths and weaknesses of each one.

Rear projection TVs are the cheapest TVs on the market. The rear projection TV’s of today have a much lower profile than that of their predecessors. Although these TVs have a lower profile, they still have a significant footprint when it comes to size making it impossible to wall mount TV’s such as these. Since this design is being phased out by cheaper more power efficient TVs, a very large rear projection TV can be purchased for the same cost as a small flat panel TV.

Plasma TVs are another great choice when considering flat panel TVs. The picture displayed by a plasma TV is very vivid and bright. These are the cheapest of the flat panel TV family. The Television is filled with a gas that makes the picture as amazing as it is. Since the TV is filled with a gas it requires special handling to prevent degradation of the system. Transporting a plasma TV is difficult since the TV must be transported upright at all times. Laying the TV on its side will cause the gas held within the unit to shift which may permanently degrade the performance of the TV. When displaying the TV it must be mounted in a way that will not allow it to exceed a certain angle which may also cause the gas to shift.

When considering flat screen TV’s LCDs are a great product that are synonymous with ease of use and durability. LCD TVs do not have gas within the unit so the TV can be transported easily however the picture is not as vivid as that of a plasma TV. LCD TVs can experience pixel burnout, however it is unlikely that burnout will take place. LCD TV’s have dropped in price since the production of the LED TV.

LED TVs are one of the entertainment industries latest and greatest inventions. These TVs are paper-thin even when compared to plasma and LCD TVs. They are bright and vivid yet consume less energy than any other TV saving the user money on a monthly basis. These TV’s can also experience pixel burnout but since the TV requires less power, pixel burnout is highly unlikely.

3D TVs are the newest and most advanced TVs on the market. They are similar to LED and LCD TVs but they can play 3D movies. 3D TVs are expensive and, in order to view 3D movies, viewers need to wear 3D imaging glasses. 3D TVs not requiring 3D glasses to view movies in 3D are currently being tested.

Finding the right small flat screen TV will get you hours of solid entertainment at a price that won’t stress you pocketbook.
